Othell Motley was born on September 1, 1946, in Autauga County to the late Bishop and Fannie Motley. He departed his life on September 17, 2022 at Baptist South Medical Center, Montgomery, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Calvin Motley, Bishop Motley Jr., and John L. Motley; three sisters, Fannie Pearl Smith, Charity Zeigler, and Lena Bell Saddlers.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
On November 22, 1974, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Barbara Steele Motley. To this union, four children were born.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a loving and devoted wife, Barbara Ann Motley; one daughter, Latasha Motley, Autaugaville, AL; three sons, Karl (Alexandra) Motley, Virginia Beach, VA, Remondo (Dominique) Motley, Huntsville, AL, Othell Motley Jr., Autaugaville, AL; six grandchildren, Serena, Jamya, Zoe, Liani, Dominique, and Deshawn; four sisters, Ruby Motley, Prattville, AL, Annie Jane Woodson, Tuskegee, AL, Ada Mae Golson, Montgomery, AL, Prevella (Frank) Hardy, Montgomery, AL; one brother, Marzette Motley, Selma, AL; four brothers-in-law; Walter Steele, Earnest Steele, and James Steele, all of Autaugaville, AL, Tyrone Steele, Pensacola, FL; Three sisters-in-law, Mary (Curtis) Cross, Wooster, OH, Barbara Willoughby, and Alicia Steele, both of Pensacola, FL; one uncle in law, Roosevelt Steele Sr., Autaugaville, AL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
