Rev. Dr. Cuthbert Alfredo Williams

The Right Reverend Dr. Cuthbert Williams Jr.  aligned his life very closely to II Timothy 2:15.  It states, "Study to show thyself, approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth".

On the sixteenth day of September, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, a stormy morning in Colon, Panama, Cuthbert Williams Jr. was carefully placed into time by the hand of God.  He was the first of five Children for his father, the late Cuthbert Williams Sr.  and the fifth of nine children for his mother, the late Leola Williams.  His grandfather, the late Nathaniel Yearwood, a Sergeant Major in the Salvation Army - was granted the opportunity to raise him after he petitioned his parents to do so.  Dr. Williams often explained even from the pulpit , how he believed his grandfather to be a Roman soldier, as "iron cord" was his mode of discipline.  As such , his older sister, Whimper Worrel pleaded on his behalf for his return home.  Not long after, at the age of 18, he migrated to the United States of America on June 11, 1970.

Cuthbert Williams began his walk with God in 1973.  He developed a zeal for God's Word and six years later, on April 8, 1979, he was ordained as a deacon.  In 1983, he embarked on an academic journey and began working on his Bachelor of Theology at Northgate Bible College, Logos Bible College.  Three years later, on 28th of September 1986, he was ordained as a Reverend by the late Right Reverend Archbishop Wilbert S. McKinley of Elim International Fellowship.  In that same year, God elevated him to the role of an Associate Pastor to the Late Bishop Charles Beresford Haynes of Faith Assemblies of God.  He served in that capacity as a true workman:  a leader of the praise and worship team, the Usher Ministry, Dance Ministry, Choir Director, Sunday school coordinator and ministry coordinator.  He often orchestrated seminars and community outreach.

Rev. Williams  indeed  studied to show himself approved by graduating at the top of his class in 1987 as the Valedictorian, with Bachelor's Degree from Northgate, Logos Bible College.  The hunger and thirst for God's Word, and the desire to rightly divided it, led him to earn his Master's Degree from Logos Graduate School in 1989, and his Doctor of Sacred Theology Degree at United Christian College in 1991.

He often described this time in his life as arduous.   He was already a father of seven, maintained a full time job, was heavily involved with all areas of the church and ministry, mentored family and friends, developed and poured into the youth ministry and taught part time.  He committed to do all these endeavors while he studied and worked on his thesis research in the areas of anthropology, Bible origin eschatology and hermeneutics, angelology, present-day truths and charismatic truths.

God's favor pervaded his life, and his ministry expanded beyond the walls of his home church as proposition from  several institutions to be his teaching ministry became a reality.  At Bethel Bible Institute in Queens, NY, from 1990to 1996, he taught the following:  Authority of the Believer, Demonology, the History of Israel,  the Tabernacle of  Moses, the Tabernacle of David, Praise and Worship, Holy Spirit and Revelation.  While serving in this role at Bethel, he received the teacher of the year award for three consecutive years - 1992, 1993 and 1994.  Between the years of 1995 to 2005, he served as a teacher for House of Prayer for all people (PHP Bible Institue0, where he also taught: Authority of the Believer, Bible Doctrine, Praise and Worship, Christ in the Scriptures, Romans, History of Israel, the Prophets, Typology, Dispensation and Covenants, Revelation, Parables of Jesus, Comparative Religions, Tabernacle of David, Pauline Epistles, and the Poetic Books.  From August 28th, 2005bto July 2014, Dr. Williams held the office of Pastor of Christian Education at Emmanuel Church of God in Brooklyn, NY.  His duties involved the training of deacons and ministers, Ushers, audio / video ministry and his baby - The Emmanuel Bookstore.

Dr. Williams and his family moved to Alabama in August of 2014, and the search for a new home Church began.  Challenges abounded as the family searched out different churches and held them up to a standard that was not immediately or easily met.  It took approximately two years of visiting recommended churches before they found Fresh Anointing House of Worship, under the leadership of Bishop Kyle Searcy.  However , that did not stop his ministry; he created what would become known to everyone as "the Word of the day texts".  Every evening he spent time in study and prayer to determined what the following days' word of the day should be.  He also ministered and encouraged neighbors, family and friends to take a closer look at the Bible and to spend time reading the word, because there was no substitute.

A humble servant, and an extraordinary man of God, he revered the Lord and his Word; that was  his first love.  He sought the scriptures daily, for hours at a time,  between both Greek and Hebrew texts.  Those close to him and spoke to him regularly knew where his head was, on any given day.  Whatever he was reading, or researching  was poured into the person on the other end, whether via phone, text, face conversations, or from the pulpit.

Rev. Dr. Cuthbert Williams lived his life in such a way as to guarantee the meeting of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 3rd, 2019 at 1:38 a.m.  He studied, he showed himself approved, he worked for the Kingdom of God, and he rightly divided The Word.  Dr. Williams leaves behind his loving wife, nine children, nineteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren plus one on the way, four god-children, three sisters, four brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
