Mr. Richard Lee Johnson, Sr. was born on March 20, 1944, in Elmore, Alabama to the late Charlie Johnson, Sr. and Elizabeth Harden.
On July 13, 1967 he joined the Army Branch of the United States Armed Forces for several years. He was united in holy matrimony with Pearlie
Brown on August 9, 1968. Early in his life he became a member of First Baptist Church, Elmore. He had a long desire for enjoying work as a painter and fishing as a hobby.
He was admitted to Montgomery VA Medical Center Veterans Hospital on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He later departed at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pearlie B. Johnson, one daughter, Cynthia Johnson and sons Marvin (Sheila) Johnson, Sr., Earnest Johnson and Richard Johnson, Jr. He was also preceded by siblings: John Douglas Johnson and Charlie Johnson, Jr. and two grandchildren, Toris Reeves and Marvin Johnson, Jr.
He leaves to cherish six daughters, Elizabeth (Haggai) Harris, Montgomery, AL, Drucilla (Luther) Orum, Montgomery, AL, Patsy Johnson, Coosada, AL, Shun Johnson, Montgomery, AL, Renaye (Jessie) Perry and Tiffanie Johnson, both of Millbrook, AL; one son Yancy Johnson, Elmore, AL; one sister Minnie Lee Johnson of Coosada, AL, one uncle Archie (Rev. Emma) Johnson, Birmingham, AL, two Aunts, Georgia L. Sigers, Birmingham, AL and Mary L. White, Chicago, Ill; sister-in-laws Sara Brown and Geraldine Hogan; twenty-one grandchildren, LaMesha (Marquee) Belser, Danielle Johnson, Tavoris Crosby, Carrea (Jami) Johnson and Tanrea (Quandra) Johnson, Dejah Harris, and DeMonte' Harris, Triquna Jackson, Nottia Johnson, Kameshia (Rashunsky) McKinney, Markevious (Crystal) Johnson, Cedrek Johnson and Ciy Johnson, Yancy (Jessica) Zeigler, Alexandria Washington, Jolicia (Edgar) Zeigler, Stefan Drake, KaLiyah Jones, DaKamron Jones, Zyon Jones and Malik Johnson; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
