Rodregus Taylor Obituary

On Friday, December 18, 2021 Rodregus made his transition into eternal rest.  Rod was born March 9, 1976 in Montgomery, AL to the Late Larry James Williams and Elizabeth Taylor.  At the time of his transition from life he resided in Hampton, VA.

As a child he joined New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, under leadership of Rev. Tyler Feinson.  He served as a member of the youth choir and usher board.

He graduated from Prattville High school in 1944.  He served in the United States Armed Services (Navy).  Later in his adult life, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and and he continued his relationship with Him until he was called home.  At the time of his death, Rod was a member of First Baptist Church East End, Newport News, Virginia, where Rev. Jammar Jones currently serves as the Pastor.

Rod loved God, Family, Friends, Fishing, Grilling, The Miami Dolphins, and his home town team, Alabama (Roll Tide).  

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman Taylor, Donald Williams, John Knox; and Step-mom; Autherine Bibb-Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories, A beloved wife, Marguerite Nadine Talbert-Taylor, Hampton, VA; Three loving children, Tamia Alexis Amstrong, India Denise Taylor, both of Montgomery, AL and Malaysia Jonae Taylor, Newport News, VA;  Mother, Elizabeth Taylor; one brother, Ricardo Pernell Taylor, Prattville, AL; Two sisters, JyMese and Joy Williams of Montgomery, AL; Two cousins that grew up with him as a brother and sister; Jamal (Romona) and Shonnie Taylor; Prattville, AL.  Three nephews, Anthony and Amari Taylor, Prattville, AL; and Kendall Williams of Montgomery, AL.  One niece, Autumn Skyy Williams, Montgomery, AL; One Great-Aunt, Katherine Shelby of Prattville, AL; Seven uncles, Rev. Larry (Elder Geraldine) Taylor, Bessemer, AL; Deacon Tony (Elder Debra) Taylor; Deacon Pete Taylor III, Prattville, AL; Louis (Yolanda) Taylor, Jacksonville, FL; Ricky (Jennie) Knox, Sylvester Knox, and Joshua (Sylvia) Knox, all of Montgomery, AL.  Eight Aunts, Delando, Jacqueline and Rosie L. Taylor of Prattville, AL  Vanessa Averhart (Fred) Bibb, Rosemary Knox, Quincie Ann.  (Sammie) Givens, Reluster  Knox, Quincie Ella Knox, all of Montgomery, AL.

Close Cousins; Toni, Trent, Tish, Marcus, Jordan, Brandon, Darius, Justin, Jada, Malik, Jamal II., Mason, Andrew, Michael, and Keyona Taylor.  Morris and Nicole Knox;  Three close home town friends, Trent Robinson, Greg Houser, and Jessie Steele, and a host of other relatives and friends in Prattville, AL, and Hampton, VA.
