Ms. Rosie "Sweetie" Banks, daughter of the late Woodrow and Hessie Howard, was born January 11, 1956, in Prattville, Alabama. At an early age, she confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Lilly Hill Baptist Church.
She later joined New Vision Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated member. At New Vision Missionary Baptist Church, she served faithfully as a member of the choir, kitchen committee, and program coordinator.
Sweetie graduated from Prattville High School then Trenholm College, she went on to work at Gulf Agency for 40 years. She was well known for baking cakes, even known to some as "The Cake Lady". Sweetie enjoyed spending time with the Golden Girls. She had a generous spirit and pleasant personality; she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Friday, November 11, 2022, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Howard.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Eddie (Fikisha) Banks, Reginald Banks, and Roderick (Shiza) Banks. Sisters: Gertrude Howard and Edith Robinson. Grandsons: Kenterrius "KT" Thompson, Keshaun Thompson, Kamron Banks, Kedric Banks, Jaydon Edwards, and Chance Banks. Niece Chelsea Frazier, nephews Shamir Howard, Dante Frazier. Devoted friend, Diana Palmer. And a host of half brothers and sisters, cousins, church members and friends.
