Ruby Hunter entered eternal peace on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama. Ruby was born May 3, 1946 to the late Mary E. Wright of Prattville, Alabama.
At an early age, Ruby accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she was a faithful and committed member until death. She was a member of the Senior Choir, Deaconess Ministry, and Missionary Ministry.
She retired from Flowers Bakery after 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Lewis Hunter and her sister Ethel Smith.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughters Nedra (Wayne) Looney of Clanton, Alabama and Betty Armstrong of Prattville, Alabama; grandchildren Joseph Looney of Ft. Lee, Virginia, Nicholas Looney of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tonya Armstrong of Prattville, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Ka’Mya, Quinntavious, and De’Anthony all of Prattville, Alabama; sisters Gena Livingston of Santa Ana, California, Teresa Cutler and Drucilla Smith of Prattville, Alabama, and LZennie (Paul) Clemons of Montgomery, Alabama; brother, Wesley Wright of Prattville, Alabama; special aunt, Ella L. Smith of Chicago, Illinois; sisters-in-law Genetta Ulmer of Pensacola, Florida, Vera Hunter and Barbara T. Hunter of Prattville, Alabama; brothers-in-law James (Claudetta) Hunter, John (Edna) Hunter, Hubert (Gladys) Hunter, Jim Hunter, Jr., and Leon (June) Hunter, all of Prattville, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends; dear friend and sister-in-love Claudetta Hunter; and special friends Cathy Davis and Mary Motely.
