Ms. Sharon E. McGhee Thicklin affectionately known as " Shell" was born April 30, 1963 to the late Mrs. Alice Shephard McGhee and Mr. Willie Frank McGhee, Sr. in Coosada, Alabama.
At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Water Oak Grove Baptist Church in Prattville, Alabama under the leadership of Rev. F. B Brown.
Sharon begun her formal education in the Elmore County Public School System. After high school, she started her career at Father Purcell Memorial Children Center in Montgomery Alabama. After 25 years of service at Father Purcell she retired.
She was one that loved to laugh, dance and cherished her family. She loved to cook for her family as well as served as the taste tester for many foods. She never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile.
Sharon, a beautiful rose, found an opening in the fence of life on Saturday morning, July 2, 2022. She sprouted through to bloom on the other side in God's garden of eternal glory.
She is proceeded in death by her parents: Alice and Willie Frank McGhee Sr.; sisters: Patricia Wilson, Princella Todd, Amanda McGhee and Patricia Ann Banks; and granddaughter: Angel McGhee.
She leaves amazing memories with her sons, Arsenio McGhee of Millbrook, AL and Michael McGhee of Coosada, AL: Four grandchildren: Audriana and Cameron McGhee, Hailey Grace, Menden Hall, and Shania McGhee; Step-Mother: Annie Mae McGhee; Two sisters:
Jessie M. McGhee and Retta McGhee, Four brothers: Clifford (Connie) McGhee, Spencer Shephard, Willie F. McGhee Jr, and Terry McGhee: Three half-sisters: Mary Bush, Irene Stovall and Konnecca Stovall; and Two half-brothers Rodney Bush and Prentice Stovall. She has a host of family, friends, nieces and nephew. We would like to extend special thanks to her cousins, Ms. Juanita Sinclair and Ms. Gloria Reeves for their love and support and also Ms. Donna Faye Miles for the years of friendship.
