Stanley Law Obituary

On April 1, 1959 in Montgomery County, a special 10 pound, bundle of joy was born. He was introduced to all as Stanley Keith Law, the second child of the late Deacon Moses Edward Law, Sr. and the late Alfreda Price Law. Stanley loved the Lord! He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Canaan Hill Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama where he grew closer to Christ. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and joined the military soon after.

While serving The United States Armed Forces, "Stan" found a love for boxing. . . . and that love inspired his brothers and nephews later in life. Due to health conditions, he was honorably discharged from the Military and returned home. Upon returning, he found love and from those unions, three precious children were born, as well as a bonus child that he also loved dearly.

As Stanley navigated his life as a veteran in the civilian world, he became an ordained Minister and believed in spreading the Gospel. He also worked alongside his father, mastering the skill of masonry. He enjoyed painting above all, and that passion was embedded in his only son. Amongst many other things, Stanley deeply cherished tending to his garden and sharing his harvest with family and friends. He took great pride in the size of his collards and cabbages. He made boundless impressions and impacted the lives of many people in the West End Neighborhood and afar.

God called Stanley home on Sunday, January 29, 2023 to join several of his loved ones who preceded him in death. Standing at the welcoming gate were his beloved parents, the late Deacon Moses Edward Law, Sr. and our beautiful Angel, the late Alfreda Price Law; his eldest brother, Gregory Ferland Law (PeeWee), Moses Edward Law, Jr., Patrick Fitzgerald Law ("our Boxing Champ"), and one grandson, Elijah Wright. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Shermaine Law of Montgomery, AL; two daughters, Cathedral (Lance) Robinson of Philadelphia, PA and Latasha Law of Montgomery, AL; a beloved, bonus daughter, Shawnkita (Randall) Law Goodson of Montgomery, AL; twelve grandchildren, Lance Robinson, Jr., Trevor Robinson, Malic Davis, Makye Davis, Nicole Law, Tremaine Q. Law Pettway, Noni Widen, Jason Getter, Asia, Jakevia Oliver, Shunikwa Law, and Ran'Dafius Goodson; a caring sister, Chantela (Gregory) Coleman of Montgomery, AL; three faithful brothers, Devik (Charlotte) Law of Montgomery, AL, Phillip (Brenda) Law, Sr., of Columbus, GA, and Pedro (Cecilia) Law of Pike Road, AL; three nieces, nine nephews and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Stanley will forever be remembered for his big, beautiful smile, his boisterous laugh, and the many unsolicited sermons preached to everyone he encountered. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
