Velma Warren Obituary

On December 3, 2019, VELMA "Mudear" Warren was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.  She received the greatest grace of eternal peace, where is no sadness or tears.

She was born on May 16, 1931, to the late Minister Gill and Daisy Dinkins.  She was the second child of a family of two children.  Velma met the love of her life, Cornelius Warren, Jr., and was united in holy matrimony in 1950.  She was a devoted wife who loved and cared much for her husband and children.  Her older brother, Olin Dinkins, father Gill Dinkins, mother, Daisy Dinkins, husband, Cornelius Warren Jr., and two grandsons, Jerome Speigner Jr., and Samuel Davis IV, preceded her in their homegoing.

Anyone who knew "Mudear" Knew she loved sitting on her porch, regardless of how hot it was, not to mention the mosquitos.  She enjoyed going to garage sales, riding, and site-seeing.  "Mudear" always stressed that whatever you do, you Must treat people right, and she believed that with all her heart!

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Missionary Baptist Church,  where she was a faithful and active member.  She served in the Missionary Ministry until her health started to decline.  She also as a Voter Registrar for the Autauga County Registrar's Office for many, many years.

She leaves her precious memories; her eight children, Cleopatra (Joseph, deceased) Warren (Lithonia, GA), Gwendolyn (Ricky) Piller, Donald Warren, Ronald (Brenda) Warren, Marcus (Pamela) Warren, Daisy (Larry) Davis, Cassandra (Richard) Harris, and Vanessa (Samuel) Davis III, all of Prattville, Alabama, sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.  She also leaves to cherish her memories: her loving in-laws, Emma Warren (Prattville, AL), Estelle Warren (Decatur, GA), Morris Warren (Montgomery, AL), Robert Lee Warren (Chicago, IL).  Betty (Robert) Smith (Brooklyn, NY), and Barbara (Charles )Jemison (Pensacola, FL); two cousins, Wilmon (Nitman) Jones and Alice Nixon of Prattville, Alabama; a host of other relatives and friends; devoted family and friends, Velvet Nikita (Kita) Davis, Emma Warren, Victoria Merriweather, Herman Moncrief, Vicky Moncrief, and Thomas (Buddy) Sylvia Brantley.
