Vickie Robinson Obituary

Vickie Lane Robinson was born June 26, 1957 to the late Willie Lee Robinson and Fannie Mae Robinson. He was the fourth of seven children. Vickie made his transition on Friday May 28, 2021.

Vickie attended Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church from childhood until he joined First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Fred A. Gray. Vickie attended faithfully until his health started failing.

Vickie graduated from Autauga County High School in 1975. He later joined the U.S. Army July 20th, 1977 through January 14th, 1983 and his MOS was Culinary Arts.

Upon his release from Active duty in the U.S. Army, he was instrumental in testifying and assisting the State of Alabama in sponsoring a bill to improve medical care for veterans. During Vickie's career he also served as Food Director for  Alabama State University.

Vickie moved to Charlotte, NC for several years where he held the position as Head Chef for Morrison Cafeteria. While in North Carolina he coined the nickname "Kakki Lakki". He later relocated to Decatur, GA where he held the position of the Line Chef for Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Due to his love of cooking after returning to Prattville, Vickie operated an outside food kiosk opened on weekends. He also catered for several events around Autauga County. he was best known for his smoked turkey wings, ribs,fish breakfasts and assorted side dishes.

Vickie was preceded in death by his parents:Mr. Willie and Mrs. Fannie Robinson, His Wife:Yvonne Robinson and Brothers: Ray allen Robinson and Willie Robinson, Jr. (Blood).

Vickie leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted Son, Cordrick Owens Robinson; a granddaughter:  Ariah Owens (Canton, OH); Daughter-in-law: Pia Turner; Three Brothers: Lynn F. Robinson, Felius W. Robinson and Clinton B. (LaSunta) Robinson all of Prattville, AL; Two Sisters: Floris R. Marrisett (Stone Mountain,GA) and Portia D. Robinson (Marietta, GA), a sister-in-law: Gloria A. Robinson (San Antonio, TX); an aunt and uncle: John (Thelma) Robinson of Prattville,  AL; a dedicated friend, Donnell Kirksey. He also leaves a host of cousins,nephews,nieces, and a host of loving friends.
