God loaned us one of His angels to come in the form of Virgie Lee (Green) Nolan. Virgie was born on May 20, 1937 in Doak Springs, Texas. She was one of thirteen children born to Ira Green and Josephine (Baker) Green.
She was married to Charles Preston Nolan Sr. and to their union were born eight children. Surviving her memory are: Brenda G. Strait, Charles P. Nolan, Jr. Pamela Y. Taylor, Teresa Y. Bell, Barbara J. Collins, Kevin B. Nolan, Diana L. (Del) Lewis; Ozella Jackson (Sister), Bennie Green (Brother), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a very astute young lady and was named Salutatorian of her high school graduation class. Her academic accomplishments afforded her a scholarship to Prairie View College. At the age of 31 she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and worked I her profession for forty years.
Nothing brought her more joy than traveling and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Her life’s passion and her greatest was in serving God and others in any capacity necessary. She served God in worship, praise and in service. She was truly graced with a servant’s heart, and were the hands and feet of Jesus whenever the need a rose.
Our Mother had a meek and quiet spirit and was a woman of few words, but she possessed great faith and was a giant in prayer and in the knowledge of God’s word.
Accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and in 1981 she joined Greater Lincoln Park Temple (San Antonio, Texas) under the leadership of Pastor Wm. A. Ellis., where she served faithfully in the choir and on the Nurses Guild, until she relocated to Hawaii and finally Alabama. Once in Alabama, she joined Father Son and Holy Ghost (Prattville, Alabama) under the leadership of Bishop Algie Morgan. Later she became a member of New Life Church Of God in Christ (Montgomery, Alabama) under the leadership of Pastor Terry Ellison.
A Mother to many, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, but more importantly, she was a Servant of God. Her unconditional love and selfless acts of kindness is the legacy that she left with all of those who were blessed to have known her.
