Mrs. Julia Pearl (Forge) Ford "Granny" age 91 a resident of Prattville, Alabama passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at her residence.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1pm from Autauga Hill A. M. E. Zion Church, 1596 Highway 14 West  Prattville, Alabama with Rev. Cassandra Field-McCloud, Pastor officiating.  Burial to follow at Autauga Hill A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery.

                                                                                                      The Obituary

Ms. Julia Pearl Forge / Ford (Granny) was born May 9, 1927 to the late Maxie Lee Forge and Fannie Mae Nunn.  Ms. Ford confessde Christ at an early age and joined the Autauga Hill A.M.E. Zion Church where she was the oldest member and served until her health began to fail her.  She was proceede in death by one daughter, Latrisha Ford.  Three stepdaughters, Rose Mae Golson-Harris, Annie Ree Johnson and Sallie Mae Golson-Lewis and one step-son, Roosevelt Golson and one sister Wilma Forge.

Ms. Ford was employed by the City of Prattville where she worked as a custodian for the Autauga County Library for 22 years.  Her work and dedication to the City of Prattville still lives in the hearts of those she mentored and prayed with during her time there.  After retiring, Ms. Ford (Granny) as we all knew her, took time to enjoy raising her grandchildren and spending time with family.  She loved people and caring for others was her gift.

Strangers she did not meet.  One encounter with Granny was all you needed to have a lifelong friend, prayer partner and confidant.  From her famous mason jars of sweet tea, skillet fried chicken to her heartfelt breakfast beside manner, we all know, heaven couldn't have sent a beautiful angel to earth.

Precious memories will be cherished by her beautiful family.  She is survived by 10 children.  One loving and devoted daughter, Fannye Pearl Rogers (Prattville, Alabama), Three Loving step-daughters, Charlie Mae Dunklin (Montgomery, Alabama), ardelle Crenshaw (Chicago, Illinois), and Anetta Atkins (Hartford, Connecticut.  Six devoted sons, Roosevelt Ford, William James Ford and Edward Carl (Tabitha) Ford, all of Montgomery, Alabama.  Jim Edward (Linda Kaye) Ford, Maxie Lee Ford and Ray Charles Ford, all of Prattville, Alabama.  One sister, Mary Goldsby (Birmingham, Alabama) and two special cousins, Mattie Bell Todd and Gary Forge both of Birmingham, Alabama.

She also leaves memories of a lifetime with her 23 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
