Mr. Joel Wayne (Tootie) Jackson, age 37, a resident of Prattville, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Prattville Baptist Hospital.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2pm from Anointed Remnant International Ministries, 1353 Reed Street Prattville, Alabama with Bishop Dr. Willie L. Bradley, Pastor officiating.  Burial to follow at New Jericho Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 301 County Road 29 Prattville, Alabama.

Joel Wayne Jackson was born January 7, 1981 and his sunset was on April 17, 2018.  Joel "Tootie" Jackson was a hard worker since the age of 15 and a loving father.  Within the last five years he found a work family with Flowers Bakery where he recently received a plaque for his many years of dedication.  Whom ever encounted Joel always remembered his roaring voice, his big personality and his contagious laugh, oh and lets not forget those heavy hands.

Joel's love for others was as big as his strengths, generosity and his kindness.  He never met a stranger and always made sure his last words were "I love you".  The best moment of his life was when he found out he was going to be a father.  He would often be seen wearing a wide variety of "awesome" dad shirts.  His son, Ja'Mire knew his father to be his own personal hero, bigger than average, stronger than most, and always making his son's dreams come true.  Joel was also a loving brother who was always just a phone call away.  He was dedicated to spporting and uplifting his brothers and made sure he protected his sisters, letting them know that big brother was never too far away.  His  big heart will leave a big hole of emptiness inside each of us.  We will hold deeply to the memories of a great father, loving brother, and loving friend.  Joel had 37 years of loving us all, it seemed as if he had a lifetime to go but our Heavenly Father called Joel, he had to go, he had to go!

He was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Jackson, grandmother, and other loved ones.  He leaves to cherish his memory a loving son (Ja'Mire Z. Jackson): his father, Joel (Treva) Butler: two brothers, Clinton Jackson, Anthony (Victoria) Smith: four sisters, Bridgette (Easter) Ford, Latasha (Terrence) Anderson, Ja'Terika Butler.

Several uncles and aunts: Solomon (Linda) Jackson; Willie (Verlisha) Owens: Aundra (Felisha) Jackson; Anthony Johnson; Johnny (Beatrice) Jackson; Jimmy Thomas (deceased); Albert Jackson (deceased); Ulysses (Scottie) Jackson; Arcelia (Wilmer) Jackson; George Jackson; Dianne Owens; Mary Jackson; Louvenia Albright (deceased); Jessie (Delois) Jackson; Michael (Jackie) Butler; Brenda Pernell; Carol Jackson; Anita Butler; David Butler; Kevan Butler; and Anna ( Brian) Crichlow.

He also leaves very special friends who were brothers to him Donny, Henry, Tabius, and Kalin and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.  And, for your unwavering love and support special thanks to Dianne Smith and Deacon Uncle Aundra Jackson.

Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear loved one. The passing of our beloved family members and friends is a hard burden to bear. But the bible assures us at John 5:28, 29 that the day will come when we will see our dead loved ones again. May the true God watch over your family during this most grievous time.

I met Joel when I was the manager at Brookmore Aprts..he was a bundle of laughs all the time. He would take me ridding on his bike on summer days. I remember when his son was born he was so proud and was a great dad..he will be missed greatly..
