                                                                                                   OBITUARY

John L. Durden was born on August 19,1945, through the union of Joe and Pauline Durden in Autaugaville, Alabama.

John departed his life on Thursday, April 19, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father Joe Durden, Mother Pauline Durden, sister Nancy Motley, and great granchild Miles Anthony Birch.

In his spare time, John loved playing checkers with family and friends and showed no mercy, not even to his grandkids.  He would make sure he won, even if he had to pull a trick or two.  He also loved to fish even though the fish were being fed instead of caught most of the time.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bertha Durden of Prattville, Alabama: children, daughter Zongalyn Natisia McCloud  (Hubert) of Phoenix, Arizona, son Lyderick Durden (Tajuana) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and daughter Vernessa Pierce of Prattville, Alabama: grandchildren Kanetia Durden of Killeen, Texas, Shameka Birch (Michael) of Guntersville, Alabama, Yar'mecia Johnson of Fort Drum, New York, Latasha Thomas of Prattville, Alabama, and Kenitha Lee (Andre) of Montgomery, Alabama: nephew LaDale Motley of Detrot, Michigan: niece Bernadette Carter of Detroit, Michigan; and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

To the Durden Family, you have my greatest sympathy during these very difficult time.
The lost of a loved one is very painful. God tells us at Revelation 21:4 that the time is coming when pain and suffering will be no more. This is a promise that will be fulfilled right here on earth, because there have been NO pain and suffering in heaven.
May the God of all comfort, comfort you in this difficult time.
