Mr. Ray Charles  Lucas age 53, a resident of Gainesville, Flordia formerly of  Millbrook, Alabama passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at UF Health Shands Hospital Gainesville, Flordia.  Funeral service will be held Saturday September 29, 2018 at 11am from Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, 91 Deatsville Highway Millbrook, Alabama with Rev. Sam Jackson, Pastor officiating.  Burial to follow at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Ray Charles Lucas, 54, went home to glory on Sunday September 23, 2018 in Gainesville, Flordia.  Ray Charles Lucas was born December 2, 1963 in Autauga County to the late Elnora Smoke and Charles Smoke.

Ray attended Bellingrath Junior High  School and Sidney Lainer High School.  He excelled in football (#22), wrestling, and track.  He was an accomplished chef and a great carpenter.  He was best known as " the jack of all trades " and a handyman.

Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Lucas Smoke, his sister, Charlie Mae Brown, and a baby brother Isaac Lucas.

Cherishing his memories a loving and devoted daughter, Lashonda Wilson Hartley (Rodney)  Montgomery, Alabama; His father, Charles Smoke, Elmore, Alabama; Stepson, Quantez Calhoun, Everett, Washington; Stepdaughter, Devetrius Hardy Glenn, Plant City, Flordia; Three brothers: Jamie Smoke (Miriam), Millbrook, Alabama, Ray Brown, Elmore, Alabama, and Clarence Brown (Martha), Elmore, Alabama; Three sisters: Shero Brown, Elmore, Alabama,  Pearl Brown, Elmore, Alabama, and Gloria Hill, Atkin Hill, Alabama; Four grandchildren: Tamya Bruce, Cameron Hartley, Montgomery, Alabama, Jasmin Hartley, Seattle Washington, and Melanie Calhoun, Everett, Washington; Five aunts: Alice Johnson, Coosada, Alabama, Elouise Potts, Millbrook, Alabama, Diane Lucas Blue (John), Atlanta, Georgia, and Betty Tyson (Offie)), Gainesville, Flordia, Annie Bell Harris (Bishop Bado); Two uncles: Jimmy Smoke, Coosada, Alabama and Clarence Lucas, Jr, Montgomery, Alabama.  A special friend Ms. Josephine Sims, Millbrook, Alabama, devoted cousin, Mary Lucas, Gainesville, Flordia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
